3. Atelier Maisons' Scope
Our Suppliers are expected to work continuously to improve their socially responsible, ethical and environmental performance. All of our products are artisan made, often handmade and hand embroidered. It is of paramount importance to us that these craftspeople are protected, treated with respect at all times, and receive a fair wage for their work. We occasionally visit these companies to check on the quality of their environment, their ethical policies, and their environmental awareness.
4. Our Philosophy
All purchasing will be based on the following factors:
- Suppliers will be made aware of Atelier Maison's Socially Responsible, Environmental and Ethical Policies. We ask our Suppliers to supply evidence of their own standards.
- An ongoing programme of such targets for Atelier Maison and our Suppliers.
5. Environmental Issues
Atelier Maison is committed to achieving good practicable environmental performance. Throughout our designing/buying processes we endeavour to focus on:
- Reducing material use, in design, manufacture and delivery. We are committed to ensuring that Suppliers meet good standards in terms of packaging and distribution of goods and services.
- We use local suppliers/distributors wherever possible to shorten supply chains.
- We recycle and expect our Suppliers to recycle wherever possible.
6. Socially Responsible Issues
It is of paramount importance to Atelier Maison that we operate in a Socially Responsible way.
- Our craftspeople often live and work in remote farming communities. They have diversified into crafts, using tradtional and ancient skills. To be culturally aware and socially responsible is really what Atelier Maison is all about. Our products are artisan made, not mass produced by machine.
- Atelier Maison wishes to be socially accountable.
